any way to recalibrate our MPG computer? RE flash maybe?
that **** thing is so far off its not even funny. i've had three of these trucks and the other two were never this far off. my 00 and my 04 were both relatively close. usually within 1 mpg of actual. my 06 is constantly getting 25 mpg on the comp. i can't even stand to look at it. i get about 18.5-19 if i figure it out mathematically which is about the same as my 04. my 00 had 4.10's and would get around 16-17 with my style of driving which is mostly highway speeds.
I have seen this question a lot and wish I could say I saw a good answer but it looks like we are stuck with what the computer gives us. I don't see it in your signature but are you running stock tires? If not that could be why yours is so far off. Mine is about 2 mpg higher then hand calc with my stock tires.

Who cares...turn it to the temp reading or something else , you already know what it really getting , and just think how much extra you`ll get for it when you ever go to sell it and show the buyer how it gets 25+ mpg

Mine is off by about 1 to 1.5 on the high side. I just leave mine on the temp reading now, or DTE
A lot of you guys seem to have tuners or chips in your trucks. Those things are going to really throw off the overhead readout since the factory ECM isn't entirely aware of how much air/fuel is really going into the engine.
My 2003 is pretty close, seems to usually be within 0.5 to 1mpg - but it's also all stock. I reset it at every tank and also keep the receipts and hand calculate later.

i'm on stock tires and i'm talking about it being without a tuner. when my tuner is on it doesn't really change the overhead during normal driving, just what i'm actually getting. at this point i leave it on temp, but it would be nice to read it like my other trucks. it's a nice feature and i wish i wouldn't have lost it on this truck.

i care. funny thing about it is though, when i bought my current truck i thought maybe it was a freak since i was used to the computer being relatively close. the previous owner had told me with his edge that he had seen up to 28 mpg. what can i say, it was a selling point no doubt. i would've bought it either way though.
