12 valve in a 2001??
hey guys i have a cracked block on my 2001 and the engine has 280k on it so its really not worth tryin to fix. thinkin il go with a used engine. my question is would a 12 valve bolt right into my truck?? wat about the wiring and al that stuff?? i just wanna know if this is possible and how hard or easy it would be. thanks.
Should be pretty straight forward. Mechanical would be the easy part. If you kept the electronics from the '01 intact, swapped all the sensors you should be good to go. The only one that would cause you grief would be the cam position sensor. If you swap the '01 gear onto the 12v, you can modify the 12v timing case so the cam sensor will read the tone ring. I can't see much holding you back otherwise.

Just say NO to cruise control.. hahhahahhaha
Of course, just last year I bought my first ever truck that had cruise, and power locks. I'm a bit neanderthal that way.

You should be good to go. I would just run a throttle cable off the apps module to P7100 pump. The cruise cable goes into the apps bracket. The real issue is the tach signal. As Tate stated, you need to mod the 12v for the 24v cam gear.

Nice work buddy. Shoot some pictures for us 24v guys to drool on. Wooow. Thanks for trying it. What did you do for the tach? Throttle attachment? This project has been in the back of my mind for sometime.
