Is the the 1 3/8 input shaft worth the $$$$

I'm pulling the tranny (nv4500) next week the do some repairs. And new clutch. I priced the bigger 1 3/8 input shaft, and wow, cost some big $$$$. Should i go ahead and do it before my stocker breaks?? I don't pull with it, but i'm am turning a 40in tire, and it does get the crap drove out of it. Do that many people that pull (street driven) go to these or is it just for the "big boys"? Thanks Chris

Well if you hot rod it any I would go ahead and put that sucker in there. I just opted for a billet input and a laminated flex plate from suncoast and to tell you the truth I'm glad I did. Now I don't have to worry about those two parts being time bombs when I go to race or hot rod around on the street. Also those 40s are HEAVY!!

Yeah, its alot of tire to get moving, but i would think a drive shaft (u-joint) or rear end would go befor a stock input shaft!! I just don't want it to break when i put a good DD clutch in it that won't slip (like the one i have now) and damage the clutch.

I've Broke Three on my old truck. If youve got the money check with olee or Doug Smith they'll prolly give a good deal if you buy a clutch to!

If you drive "normal" even while towing, you won't break the stocker.
