Windows 10

I was on windows 7 for many years, upgraded computer and it came with 10. Upgraded my old computer from 7 to 10 for the wife. We both hated 10, but she adjusted quicker. Why, I asked myself. Hmmm??? What did I hate? APPS. What are they? Dumb!!! Then I looked at my cell phone - - it was a flip phone - - those other dumb Galaxy ?? and others are stupid - - or so I thought. Then, the flip gave up the ghost - - almost had to go to new phone style. Suddenly W10 wasn't so bad. Wife loved the new phone and would hardly let me use it and suddenly she loved 10. This made me learn my phone better, then moving to W10 was so much easier. Now that I am familiar with it I like it. Just takes some time. If you have a modern cell phone, you will probably adjust pretty quickly to 10. I would not go back to 7 now.

It's a huge change from XP, even going to win8 was big then 8.1 was much better but win 10 seems good. I like the integrated antivirus "windows defender", I was using Norton when win 10 first came out but uninstalled Norton as it seemed to be slowing the computer down. I loved the old "outlook" email that came with "MS office" on XP but I still hate the win 8, 8.1 and 10 email editor. I've tried many but the standard win 10 email is the best of a bad bunch. Buying a new version of Office does nothing as far as email goes.

Windows 10 is fine. Any new operating system is no fun until you get used to it. But unlike Vista or Windows 8, Windows 10 is functional and appeases the crowds who like the APPS of 8 and the XP similarity of 7.

I love win 10 over previous versions. My biggest thing is that Win 10 don't use as much of the hard drive while running and works faster with the same setup as I had with Win 7. I have it running on an old Dell latitude laptop I've replaced the stock HD with a 500 gig, 7200rpm drive. No problems since Win 10 came out...

About 2 months ago one of our win 10 surface pros wouldn't connect to the internet even though it said it WAS connected to WiFi then messages kept popping up saying it wasn't connected when it showed it was, then it stopped loading ANY app. After multiple reboots and reconnects to 3 different routers it remained the same. After checking the update list it showed that computer had done a certain update and the 2 other win 10 computers hadn't done it. My wife called Microsoft and they were aware of the problem, to fix it they uploaded every single file and photo to the cloud then wiped the computer clean, reloaded win 10 then MS office then down loaded all the files and pics from the cloud, it took all day. I was very impressed with MS though, they even set up all the email accounts.

I went from 7 to 10. Works pretty much like 7 to me so transition was easy. 8 on the other hand

Windows 10 will run things like updates and scans in the background slowing it down at times. You can improve that by changing when automatic stuff takes place. I set all of mine to manual. You can also change your startup programs. That lets it become usable sooner.
