Paramedics check in here
Hey guys, seems everyone else has a thread dedicated to them, so i figured we ought to have one for all us medic's out here, basics and intermediates are allowed also. Anyone out there doing the offshore thing? I've been thinking real hard about it lately. Currently I'm an FTO for AMR in Arlington, Tx.

No one in Georgia takes EMT-B anymore. Waiting for the paramedic for a few years. We only need it to become an officer so I have another 4 years. I want to ride the fire engine every once in a while, not just the hook all the time and get burnt out in 7 years. I'll only be 29!!!

God bless ya, you are grossly underpaid and overworked for the responsibilities you have.

Tim
I've got 13 years in so far. I'm just past the halfway point to retirement. I gave up my national registry because it's not recognized here in Oregon. Our standards are tougher (so the state says-- I say BS!). We have to take a couple of extra tests to get certified. A separate Pediatrics section and a Laws section. Just another way the state can collect some money from us.
