Any golfers?
My dad and brother have got me back into golfing. I gave it up years ago for a number of different reasons. He starting golfing with the oil big wigs awhile ago and bought about $1k worth of Callaway clubs to keep up with the Jones's. I bit the bullet and bought my clubs, but I didn't spend near as much. I got a set of Wilson Pro Staff clubs with the 1" extended length in the irons. I've never played with extended length irons before now I wish I had. I would have never given it up. I'm 6' 2" tall. While not being abnormally tall the added length makes a HUGE difference. I paid half the amount for a full set of clubs that my dad paid just for his irons. He's going to be mad when he tries these out since he's 6' 4". I like these clubs way better than his Callaway X-18's. He might just go get his irons reshafted. Heading out to the course either tomorrow or Friday to put them to a real test. I've got a feeling I'll see a big difference in my game.
Anyone else play golf?
What clubs do you use?

I go out once in a while. Which reminds me, I have enough range ball tokens to sink a battleship. Got a set of Mizuno irons, - the 6, had an intruder. Callaway Fusion driver, helps the slice. Cleveland driver, woods, and putter.

I play regularly in the summer- goin' out this afternoon. Trying to get my handicap down to around 18. It's at 23 now. Wanted to break 90 consistently this year but had an injury beginning of June that took golf away from a number of weeks and is still keeping me from top form! I'm still gonna do it- even if I'm having trouble breaking 100 right now!!

I wanted to try out the clubs today. No luck. One course in down for maintenance and the other has the Wyoming Open going on. I'm not a big fan of the base golf course. It's not nearly as well taken care of as the others. I'm heading out tomorrow for sure.

I've got a set of KZG Evolution forged irons with Rifle Project X shafts, Titlest Vokey wedges, Taylormade Burner Driver, SMT 3 wood, Taylormade 3 hybrid, a Tad Moore 2 hybrid and a Oddesey White Hot putter. Yup, I'm trying to buy a better golf game, LOL.
Adding an inch to your shafts was probably a good idea. If they're too short the toe hangs down and you'll hit shots thin and to the right. Too long and it's fat and to the left. A clubfitter can test you easily and adjust your clubs for a reasonable price. It's well worth the $ to get it done.

I play about 20-30 rounds a year, but my handicap doesn't get any lower.
I'm a 21 handicap. My irons (3-9, pw,sw,gw) are King cobra gravity backs (about 15 years old) with graphite shafts. Taylormade R7 460 draw driver, Taylormade draw rescue 3, Taylormade Burner bubble shaft 3 wood, and an Odessey (sp) white hot putter. The jumps off the putter face. Took a long time to get used to that. AAArgh!

Big Bertha 460 driver, King Cobra stiff steel shaft irons, base NEX 3, 5 and hybrid (RIP). Wifes set is just as mixed but with Talyormade Woods. Really wanting a set of Wide Sole irons but can't get the lovely bride to let go of the money, "You can't hit the irons you have" is all I hear.
I can't break past the 90's and the miss's usually beats me by 5 or so. I'll take that considering she has been playing golf three times longer than I.
Any of ya'll in the Millington Tn area up for a game, let us know.

Ping I3's that I paid next to nothing for that are almost new, Ping driver, Callaway 3 and 5, cheap putter. I work for a golf course and use to play 5 days aweek in high school and several days a week in the summers. But now I have not paid for almost two years due to work related injuries.

I have an ancient set of Wilson Staff's from 1968. I bought them from an old PGA Pro when I worked at a golf course during high school. He was 6'4" and played one round with them, had the shafts lengthened and never hit them again. I'm 6'3" with a long body and arms for my height and I have always hit them better than any other clubs I have ever tried so I stick with them. My woods are all lengthened 1 1/2" also.
The PING clubs used to be sold for size, IIRC I measured for the black color. They had a golf school every summer and I got fitted for some PING EYE2's but didn't hit them very well so I never bought them. I think that because of my stature the sizing was a bit off for me, I always scooped too much of a divot when I swung those.
