NE rain is getting ridiculous...

It just doesn't stop.

Romney just declared a state of emergency here in Mass.

More like a state of depression.

Sick of it.

Let me just say....
I am totally tired of this rain. I had water in my basement, had to do a midnight sump pump install just to get it to stop from coming in. Tried to rent a floor drier and used the wet/dry vac to dry up the carpets but didnt work well enough so they had to get torn up. My lovely cummins had a nice puddle on the passenger side it was raining so bad, turns out its coming in from the 3rd brakelight I suspect. Go to work in our new 6 million $ Firehouse water coming in there. Really, in the northeast this week, could be worse I suppose, watching whats going on in New Hampshire and of course whats been happening down south, Guess we cant really complain at all. Any how, its sunny now hopefully will be for the next week or so.

I grew up in the Keene, N.H. area (about 1/2 mile from Surry Dam that they talk about on TV). I still have lots of friends there. Luckily they are all fine, although my cousin (lives in Walpole) got water in her downstairs apartment at her mother's house...trashed her flooring and carpet. Her husband has been extremely busy...hes the road agent in Walpole. Hasn't slept in days.

Here's how my friday night went.
Phone starts ringing, flooded basements, streams turning into rivers.
Round up every pump I own, that would be 6.
Get pumps to various locations, start them up, leave.
Call 2 employees, get em here, one takes backhoe, goes to a section of road in town that gave out.
Other takes Dump truck, excavator, goes to condo complex that the only access road is about to wash out.
I take other dump truck, excavator, to another section of road in town that is ready to give out.
Call one more employee just to ride around and check on pumps.
Got home This morning at 2AM.

50 mph wind gusts forecasted for today.
Looks like were gonna be doing some tree cleanup today, ground saturated, high wind= trees down.

Alot of rain here in central MA, but none in the house. No flooding that's affected my area, but I went by a snow mobile place in Bolton today. They had those grass drag races a couple of weeks ago. Somebody's F brand van and trailer are still there and are now sitting in ~ 2 ft of water. It's a pretty low area and right next to the Nashua River which has spread out a bit.

11.6 inches of rain in one week at my house. Almost 6 inches of it coming in less than 12 hours Friday night into Saturday morning. We're high though, so no problems at my place.
