I Did A BAD, BAD Thing

I feel like such an IDIOT.

Yesterday while crusing between jobs I decided to take a side road to go to an old favorite BBQ joint (Pizzatola's) for quick PoBoy sammich,

While on said side road, I decided to change lanes, looked in mirror, glanced over shoulder, put on blinker and merged into left lane and then.......CRUNNNNNCH!!!!

I merged into a Plymouth Neon with a poor young girl driving it. She was in my blind spot and her car color matched perfectly with the building we were driving beside.

No one was even close to hurt (since we were both doing about 25 in the same direction). It really shook her up to see such a large truck trying to run over her.

Constable came by and made out accident report and was kind enough not to cite me. I told him it was my 1st accident in over 25 years and that I would take any punishment that was due me. He said that since I had handled getting the vehicles out of the road and had gotten the information exchange going between her and I that he felt sorry for me (especially since he used to own a 2500 as well and knows how we baby them).

I have to say that the N-FAB nerf bars are as strong as the manufacturer states they are.... All they did was bend the hanging brackets 90 degrees so that the entire assembly is now under my rocker panel. The tube and the steps held up without even a ding, and they didn't even get a scratch. Door took a pretty good ding, but as hard as we hit, it is pretty minor.

With 200K miles on her and not to even have a rock chip in the original windshield, I am feeling pretty low today.........

As a matter of fact, SHE WAS!!!!!

Too bad that I am an almost 50 yr old married fart....My son (16) asked me the same question... Thank goodness that momma wasn't around..... She was about 20 with a MICRO MINI and low cut top.......

Maybe that is why the cop was sooo NICE!!!! lolol

Maybe I am turning into a letch.....

I always carry a camera in my truck in case I get in an accident. Remember...you need to capture ALL the evidence if you know what I mean. Lol.

Sorry to hear that, scuzz. Glad that you didn't hit some low life that tried to sue you. Hope all turns out ok.

Looks like being stationed in the craphole you are in hasn't affected your sense of priorities.... I did help her out of her car though, and a camera, at that point would have been a little obvious.....LOLOL

The Neon scored really low on the contact to contact with my 2500. Right front fender is totally toast as is right front headlight. The right front wheel kind of goes in the direction you kick it. Since it is front wheel drive, there is nooo telling what else in the drivetrain is toast....

Thats what you have been paying those insurance premiums for all these years.

Now, only thing left is for your carrier to JACK the rates up on you for the next three years to make up every penny and more they are going to pay out to get this little hotties car back in shape.

Good thing is no one was hurt, last thing you want is that.
