If you look close you can see the engineer on the other train bailing out and rolling down the track.

According to the report I just read, that was the conductor bailing out. The engineer was still in the front of the train when it hit, and he survived.

I'm a carman for BNSF. I've seen a couple bad colisions between trains and other objects, but that one is just scary. My friend is a conductor and has some pictures of a head on train wreck that he had to go past for a month.
