This is disturbing

Here is a snippet from an article about Boston's "Big Dig" tunnel project:

BOSTON, Massachusetts (AP) -- The independent engineering specialist who led an investigation into leaks at the $14.6 billion Big Dig project says he can no longer vouch for the safety of its tunnels.
What is disturbing as well is that the article says the engineer has been blocked from getting records and data about new problems.

Trying to keep an Engineer quiet by not letting him see the evidence? Who'd a thunk it was possible More corruption at it's finest no doubt.

I think the less we know about the real safety of some of these engineering marvels of ours, might allow for some easier sleep. Man made objects just can't compete with ol' Mother Earth, we have been relatively fortunate over the years, that more of our tunnels or bridges haven't folded up.

The question is...what does the DESIGNING engineer think of the tunnels? He's the one whose career is on the line if they fail.

Good point It might be wise to slip by the Designing Engineers home to see if he has a concrete bedliner in his truck that should give us some indication of his qualifications

Nuttin but politics. Got a governor who wants to be president. Grandstanding at its best.

The tunnel is safe.

I saw that on the news all politics everybody coming down on the General contractor If there is a problem with the tunnel it is in design engineers should have to work in the field before they are allowed to draw up anything. Pretty easy to crumple up a piece of paper and start over not so easy when you are already underground.
