which way to loosen fan???

working on the first gen and going after the KDP. just need to know which way to loosen the 1-7/16" fan nut. i tried both ways already so now that i have to really whack it i want to be sure i going aftr it the right way. thanx . crossy

SO IT'S RIGHTY- LOOSEY OR CLOCKWISE I GUESS.
Dave i never saw the way you do that but this eems like it's easy enough. I guess I'll fab a tab since i did not order one. i just decided to do this this morning cause the front end is off. Need sleep right now. up ALL night, one more then off for 3 days . thanx for the offe r,

hey, I got this cover off and i'm guessing that you can drill/tap right from the side of the case and 'PIN' this in with a set screw or something? Is that the alternate method. bet you don't even remove these covers ? thanx , crossy- night.

Don't bother with a set screw or a tab. Just take a punch and peen the case down over the pin.

don't try to take the fan off at the big nut.

take it off at the engine (4- 10mm bolts) it's alot faster and easier!
