oil pressure guage

Smurff's 2000 2500 is indicating ~80 psi (end of tic marks) with the key in the on position, engine not running. Engine's getting plenty of oil, sounds good, all that stuff. Oil pressure indication does not change. Wasn't there something about sending unit problems a while back?
Please advise.

shortround out

Re:oil pressure guage

Id check the gage first. Hold down the trip reset button & turn the key to the on position do not start, relese trip reset button & wait it will do a system check. If all ok ckeck the sender and wire. Hope this helps.

Re:oil pressure guage

That's the only code showing. Would the oil pressure sending unit cause it?

Re:oil pressure guage

Mine just started that crap today. It goes to the far side of the 40 scale with the engine shut off. It must know I drove an 03 yesterday and is getting jealous.

Anybody got the proper fix for this other than the dealer?
Although the one in Williamsburg says they have a top notch hired by DC diesel mechanic.
I hate to take mine there with the EZ on it and have the machine hooked up. Probably cause more problems that it will solve.

May just disconnect that electric crap and hook up a mechanical gauge. That way, I know what I've got.

Re:oil pressure guage

We just replaced the sending unit. ~40 bucks. Not sure cause we had a generator with a problem and we added a sending unit on the wish list.
