not getting fuel to filter

We think we have a 2004.5 dodge 2500 the problem is we cant get fuel to pump this truck doesnt have the lift pump on the side of the fuel filter/water seperator it has a line going in the side of the canister we have the tank down and tried to find elect in the 4 wires that plugs into the tank we tried key on then cycle key on off for each of the 4 wires. When we first started this journey the truck had a code P2509 we started testing and found a very bad battery we changed it but still no fuel we just dont know were to or how to test next does anyone have a suggestion thanks in advance

Welcome to DTR. The 2509 I believe has to do with your grid heaters not working. To see if your fuel pump is working, bump the engine (without starting) and the pump should run for 30 or 45 seconds. Is the truck still under warrantee (under 100k miles)?

Should be a relay up by the driver's side battery that powers the intank fuel pump. Start checking at that point. Look for fuse also. Read of bad wires in this intank retrofit kit on some kits. Hope this helps.

Wiring should be as follows.

1.) Old two wire connector that goes to old LP by motor.
2.) Connector goes to relay for the coil enigizer.
3.) Hot wire off of battery positive (fused) to one side of energized connection.
4.) Other side of energized goes to hot of in tank fuel pump.

Hope this helps. Schlematic should be on top of relay for what each connector does. Should be able to follow the wires from the relay.....
