New LP and a full tank of fuel

Help everyone, I have a walbro in the garage and was ready to install it. I disconnected the fuel line from the stock carter, dropped the line so I could remove it from the hard line under the cab and it started to gravity drain my tank. Now obviously I caused the fuel flow by lowering the hose below the tank but now I'm concerned. Do I need to empty the tank before cutting the hard line or just be careful not to let it gravity drain.

thanks

Yes you will lose a little fuel,, Usually the walbro goes right in front of the fuel tank on the frame rail,,Are you removing the steel line and going all the way with rubber from the tank? Or using the steel line?
If using the steel line,,Cut it right in front of the tank,,You WILL lose a little fuel BUT have a 3 inch piece of fuel line ready with a Bolt in the end of it OR any kind of a Cap To block the fuel while you do the rest of the install,,,
Then when done with everything,,Pull the cap on the fuel line and hook up to walbro..DONE..

You can blow the fuel back into the tank after disconnecting the pump. Either by mouth or air compressor.

hey Before You Blow the Air back into the tank take the fuel cap off or better have some one else take the cap off as you blow the air back. and don't over do it with the air pressure little goes long way. I would like to add I have used caned air dust remover in a pinch, since I have no air compressor at my apt. works great.

The 3" piece of fuel line and bolt trick worked great. Got the Walbro installed and LOVE IT. Rock solid fuel pressure again. My gauge is only a 15psi gauge but I can read it's going to about 18 19 idle and never below 14 WOT

Now I just need to find the boost leak.

It shouldn't be normal to be at hwy speed and producing 0 boost correct? I can build boost if I poor on the fuel but just a cruising hwy speed 0 boost. If climbing a hill unloaded maybe 5psi boost and it's smoking alot according to the wife, she followed me home tonight and said my truck will never pass emissions too much smoke with only an EZ.

Thoughts?

Yes you will only see boost under throttle,, Going down the hwy at 70 on flat ground,,Low or No boost,,

More throttle More boost,,,,till the wastegate opens.
