Weighed the new Mega Cab 3500 4X4 with a full tank of gas and me in it.......

It came up on the scale @ 7770. I'm 6"3 235lbs so you can subtract that (7535), but I had just put 34 gallons in the tank and filled it all the way up the gas cap.

This was something I searched for and found a lot of discussion about but not a lot of actual #'s.

I did it at a local rock and sand company. They have a scale that you drive on before you load your truck up with dirt or rock. Not sure if it's 100% accurate but thought I would post it.

The truck had nothing else in it.

Curb Weight = 7313 lbs with all fluids including fuel.

7.29lbs is the weight of a gallon of diesel but if you filled it to the cap it should be 40 gallons, mine is on my 06 2500 with the 34 gal capacity tank.

7313 + 235 + 43.74 = 7591.74 (Any other things in there, maybe scale is off a little?)

P.S. the curb weight listed should be for a Dually, mine is 6862lbs.

Talking

I made sure I had nothing else. I did have pizza for lunch, maybe that was the difference?

The scale might be off some? I do have a bedliner and BFG's. Could that make a difference too?

Curb weight will be different depending on how the truck is equipped.

Uh Yeah,

Mine was 8400 with the wife and kids in it. Kids weigh 240 total, I weigh 220, wife weighs , uh, well 120 give or take a little.

So subtract the weight of me and the fam, (620) and my truck weighs 7780. Single rear, Line-X, nerfs, 5th wheel hitch, mud flaps, empty ash tray, half tank fuel, no bugs on the windshield.

Deal with it. These things can't carry a sack of apples without being overloaded.

Gas is 7 to 7.3 lbs per gallon, depending on the season of the year, according to wwww.convertit.com.

The density of No. 2 diesel fuel is 850 grams/litre = 1.874 pounds/litre = 7.09 pounds per US gallon.

According to this quick search it would seem they are close.

Even if diesel is a little heavier, I'd stick with that for the Cummins.

Ouch, your gonna be single if she reads that.

With half a tank I was at 7400. Just lifted the front and put on some new tires so I'll have to weigh it again.
