Ip/lift pump

First off im letting neighbor use my screen name to dicribe his prob with his truck since his sreen name aint working.

Its a 2002 dodge 24v w/ edge juice w/ attitude, s&b cold air intake, banks 4" exhaust. I just started having a problem when its in park and you rev the engine it breaks up like it has a cylinder miss and it plumes white smoke out the exhaust and it has a shutter. but it only does it in park when we run it on the street it runs great no white smoke and it does not break up. it just ticked off 102,000 miles and the fuel pressure has dropped from 11 psi to 8psi at idle. can anyone tell me whats wrong????

P.S. it is throwin an injection pump timing code.

Can u adjust the timing on the injection pump????

Sounds like the LP is going out and maybe the VP44.
What pressure is he having at Wot?
What are all the codes it's throwing?
Start saving your money for a new VP.
We can put it on in the Cave.

Have you tried it without the Edge Juice on it? There is no way to adjust the timing, it is all controlled through electronics (which the Edge does). If it doesn't act up when the Edge is off, then you need to have the box checked out.

Have you checked/changed the fuel filter? That could be a possible cause for reduced fuel pressure.

From everything I've read when you get the p0216 along with the p1693 thats a bad or failing VP-44

P0500 - Speed sensor (could be from spinning rear tires)
P1693 - Companion code
P0237 - MAP sensor voltage too low
P0216 - Injector pump timing failure

P0216 is usually the death code for the VP44, but I'm wondering why you have a P0237. Might need to check out the grounds and test the MAP sensor as well. Could be a bad sensor contributing to other issues.

Yeah, that's not right. So either the Juice is misreading the signal from the MAP or the MAP is giving a bad signal. In either case, the computer is not seeing what it expects from the MAP.
