HELP! lift pump problems!!!!

got 127k on a 2004 dodge 2500 4x4
newer engine in 04'

pump goes out and leaves me on the side of the road. run it a little low on fuel and dies.

what the best and least expensive solution. dealer want to do a conversion kit that cost 469 and 6 hrs labor! tooo expensive.

can I replace the pump? where do I get it?
performance replacement?

any help welcomed.

Try doing a search here , there are maybe 6 or so options , you need to plan ahead , are you going to mod / add horse power ect. , and how much , that should cut your options in 1/2 ,
Then if you pump up the truck a lot you could spend $ 800 - 1,000 , if not then maybe $200 - 400 ,
You may want to get a set of gauges [ fuel , EGT , Transtemp -if auto ] at least the fuel pressure , because it seems that the 24v trucks have a weak fuel system , the main pump requires a lot of fuel from the LP to keep it working , from all the posts about these , it would seem that if the LP fails , it will shorten the life of the main , if not kill it , so having a fuel pressure gauge is a must .
You should get some responses from the 24v guys soon .

gauges are a must now I know that!

trying to stay in the 200 to 400 range! and pick up a little extra volume or pressure over stock if I can!

Run a search on MITUSA or the Walbro pump setup.

GDP kit, you can see pics of the install in my sig, MADHAT section.

GDP = glacier diesel perf, should have a banner on this site.

FWIW, guy on here, MADHAT, should have a spare lift pump soon if you just need to keep it running.

he did that big line kit, but is still pushing thru the lift pump (has not bought adapter plate to delete it yet)

put your location in your profile, someone may help you out.

You should get a Glacier fuel system. Just put mine on this weekend replaces the entire pump. Real quiet and great performance.

if you did not trash your OEM lift pump, he could use it till he gets it all going.

he does NOT want to drive it with the weak pump. i blew my 04 up doing that. hurt something bad.

PM Skynard he pointed Madhat in the right direction and gave him the contacts for the Glacier kit w/Vulcan draw straw and lines. Pretty straight forward install. Helps to have a lift when dropping the tank.

what do you guys think

there is a adapter I bought that goes in the plac eof the old lift pump its billet allum. and has fuel lines to put an inline pump it it. has the extra spot for the pressure gauge already. Napa has a pretty god pump inline for around 75.00 flows real good volume and a high psi

altogether gunna spend 140.00, not bad huh??? .....or I could be way off. !
???? INPUT???

electrical is real easy , got a gauge and relay for the voltage.

ANY BODY GOT A GAUGE PILLAR 3POD!!!

compare it to the walbro in the GDP kit, and that will tell you the ballpark numbers you need.
