Fuel Filter Drain

Should have left well enough alone but decided to drain any water from my fuel filter. Well got some fluid off, than it stopped flowing, went to start it up and it started, but that started running rough and stalled. Now it won't start. Have loosen the banjo bolt, (not sure how much you are suppose to loosen it) but I am not getting much if any fuel coming out after I crank it and let the pump go for 25 seconds. How loose should I loosen the banjo bolt? How many times do I need to pump it before fuel should be coming out? How much fuel should I see coming out? And what do I do next?

Thanks for your help.

bump the key 2-3 times and then crank on it for a bit let it cool off and repeat....it should only take a few tries at the most.

Sorry to report that your lift pump has left the building.

Many people don't know their lift pump is dead until they lose prime opening the system up and letting in some air since the injection pump will suck fuel.
One consolation is you are far from alone with this problem...
Recommend you visit the 24 valve forum and see what others are replacing their lift pumps with as a stock replacement will be short lived.
