dead batteries and click noise

dead batteries and click noise

my batteries are dead and it just clicks is my starter shot or just needs more juice?

First thing you need to do is to charge the batteries. Sounds like thats the only thing wrong, clicking is a normal dead battery sound . Good luck.

Charge them then have them checked. Could have a dead cell or two in one of them..

How old are your batteries? It might be a good idea to get your alternator checked as well. If the alternator is not charging it will just run your batteries down again. Definitly check your charging system.

The guy before me rebiult the starter will that click or not make a noise at all?
I just bought it a few weeks ago so im still learning alot i new that that is the noise it makes when batteries are dead but it was started and ran like a week before that i just thought it was wierd that they just whent dead.

thanks i charged them for a few hours yesterday and it started right up but then today it just was able to stary with like 11 volts could this be a bad connection somewhere that it is not holding a charge?

11 volts is fine if you had a 30 second "glow session" if not 'you batteries needa testin. if only a 15 sec "glow session" then should be about 12.0 -12.5V. In really cold say -18 F

What does your voltmeter say when the truck is running? If it's a bit over 14 it's charging OK and the next test step would be to disconnect the batteries and let the truck sit for some days. Reconnect and start. If it has good voltage the batteries are ok and there is a drain on the system. (Start with simple stuff like lights, radio etc)
If it hasn't got good voltage- dead batteries.
