How to tell what Injection pump is in a 98-99 dodge 4x4 diesel? It has a manual transmission and 24 valves. I am looking to purchase this truck if it is not a problem using vegeteble oil with 25% deisel. as does my 1992. The owner wants 14800 for the truck and (camper 93 ). Has indicated he might be intrested in selling for $12000 for both. Truck has 85000 miles on it.

That truck has a VP44 pump. If you want to move to a newer style truck I'd recommend a '94 - early '98 12 valve truck. Those have P7100 pumps and are much more tolerant of WVO than the already troublesome VP44.
