What Is Kdp??
KDP stands for Killer Dowel Pin
1st gen. rams & 2nd gen up to I believe 2000 have a alignment pin that lines up the timming cover. The pin is press fitted & sometimes works out & raises havic inside the cover & destroys the case, gears, etc. There is a couple of methods of arresting the pin from falling out. I believe one way is to use a jig that several members have & drill a hole in the cover then put a set screw in to keep the pin from falling out. The other way is to pull the cover & tab it.
Hope this helps if I missed something some one may chime in for I have a 2001.5 & don't believe I need to worry about it.
