Talking Royal Purple

Anyone have any opinions on Royal Purple Lubes? Specifically, the gear lube w/ the friction modifier? Thanks, KM

I use it in my rear diff. I think mine is 85W-140. Good stuff. Best part is you most of the time do not have to add friction modifier to it. I did not have to add any to mine.

Put it in all the gear boxes on my '83 Dodge gasser 4x. Didn't find it to make enough difference to warrent the cost ... otherwise it seems like good stuff.

Amsoil/RP/Redline.... are the big three when it comes to top oils. They are the best in the business in that order.

Same here...two years now still smooth. I'm running Amsoil ATF in the transfer case, and plan on putting either Amsoil or RP in the diffs when I get around to it.

RP 85W-140 works great in the rear differential for towing our heavy 5th wheel in Texas summer temps and Interstate highway speeds. No supplemental LSD friction modifier was required in my truck.

I have run RP 5W-20 in my Acura 3.2TL-S since the first oil change and am extremely satisfied with its performance.

Run the RP in both front and rear. No problems yet.

The only compaint you will find about RP is the price... I rank Schaeffer in that group for good quality. It cost less and test out as good.

I just switched from Redline MTL to RP Synchromax in my truck and I am pleased with the improvement, especially when the trans is cold.

I'm running RP 75w-140 lube in the diff and so far so good.
Also using RP 5w-20 in the Maggie. Seems to help reduce the notoriously noisy Hemi engine compared to the Mobil 1 5w-20.

Thanks for the poop Oilguy, but give us a little info on Schaeffer, and where can one get it?
I've never heard of it before
