If you go to biodiesel board , [ I'm using someone els's computor , so no links ] this place seems to be attached some how to most of the Government & Universities , you can find almost any info , BTUs [ less ] , centane [ more ] , emissions [ up to 80% less on all emss. except partical ] where to buy , ect.
Its not like the Girlmark site , [ open source for those that want to make themselves ] .
I miss having my own computor , easy to pass on links .

According to table 1 here http://www.ag.ndsu.edu/pubs/ageng/machine/ae1240w.htm
#2 has more btus and a higher cetane than straight veggie oil.
Biodiesel has the same btus as WVO but has a higher cetane.

Well, according to Exxon's FAQ #2 only has "around 130,000" BTU's.
Doesn't quite make sense how a more viscous fuel has a lower BTU content...

It's not all it made out to be. My bud ran it for about a year or so and ended up pulling the head off. WOW.....I was about to try it but think I'll pass.
Can you say glycerin. And unburned carbons.
The head/motor looked horrible. He's a diesel mechanic, and said he would not run it again.
Stick to biodiesel.

That's what I want to believe too. I really wish there was a definative study on a HPCR engine like a 3rd gen Cummins running on a properly setup duel tank system. I am very seriously considering putting a system together like frybrid & roverhybrids on my truck.

Its not that you run WVO so much as HOW you run it I think, especially where polymerisation is concerned. You want to switch to veg oil on a hot motor. Id also run a lot of PS diesel kleen or something to keep the fuel system clean. Maybe even mix in some bio.
Lots of these horror stories are folks running watery contaminated oil or switching too soon. Cold motor has more blowby and risks contaminating crank oil, not to mention the mess it makes out of your cylinders and injector tips.
Though, I sure would love to see a head come off of a motor with 10k mi on filtered dewatered WVO thats been run hot.

Ok. Go for it then.
Most of the people with the big brain answers probably don't run it. If you do, im willing to bet it hasn't been longer than a year or so. I plan on keeing mine a little longer.
Hope you save enough money from fuel, you'll need it if your running a high percentage of WVO.

Still runs great.

Well, hopefully ya'll are right. For your sake anyways. I know a few biodiesel distributors here that are personal friends and they say don't run more than about 70%bio. My bud that ran WVO spent some money on his fuel system in order to run it properly. Everytime I stop by the shop, he's got a diesel torn apart and he's a really sharp guy.
Hopefully we won't see any crying post from ya in the future.
Good luck, i'm just letting you know of the possililties.
...These things aren't that hard to rebuild, i'm sure you guys wouldn't have a problem with it.
