Question Will a 79' Dodge crew cab interchange with a 93' CTD

I am looking to buy a good donor 1979 Dodge crew cab. I want to mix and match parts with my 93' CTD. Will most everything interchange? (dash, fenders, bed, interior panels, etc)???? Thanks

Question

Hhhmmm........... no replies? I am being told that early crew cabs 72-8? have different body lines or something. Is this true? I know the dashes are totally different than the 89-93 CTD rigs. Any help would be appreciated.

Thg body line is different on the 72- til 80ish? , then the later CTD models
The fenders/ door/ bed and hood will all bolt on. The body lines will not always be the same if you use 90's fenders and doors on a '70's rig

So the body lines are different on the 70's crew cabs? I was hoping they would match the 93 CTD body lines. What about the hood/fenders/doors........will they work? My issue is that I found a 79' crew cab for dirt cheap and now I am not so sure I want to buy it if nothing will adapt to my 93' CTD. It would be nice to get a list of differences between the 70's trucks and the 80-90's rigs.

My understanding was that the back doors on the crew cabs never changed over the years.

SO as long as you use the front sheet metal, and the front doors from your 93, and then the box from your 93 as well, everything should look fine.

The only problem with body lines and stuff arise when you don't swap all the parts from the same years and styles.

About the only real difference in the body panels is the hard crease in the fenders and front doors. There is that bend about 6" from the top of the hood/fender area. The 70s fenders and doors don't have that. You can always put 81-93 fenders and doors on the truck if you don't like it smooth like that. The back doors did remain the same. I've got 85 rear doors on my 73.

Yes, the body lines on different on 1972-1980; however, the doors are the same. So if you are using your old bed than the only thing to worry about is the fenders and hood. Of course there will be the obvious differences like grille, dash, etc.
