Like I said, there are some other spreadsheets you might find useful on my website too. And if you have any suggestions for improvement, please don't hesitate to let me know. I change them around a lot, and post them online for anyone to use.

If my jeep gets 20 MPG when it's done in a couple weeks, I'll be completely satisfied! My jeep had a 2.5L 4-cylinder gas engine, and never got above 15MPG before...

But considering others on this thread are getting 30+ MPG, I'm sure we can all get well above 20 MPG

Exhaust Outlet Connection

Hey TDI,
I priced a Cummins turbo exhaust outlet connector (3282938) and clamp (3903652) today. It was $160 for the pair. I checked your Flickr pics. Is your exhaust outlet connection a Cummins piece? If not, where did you get and about how much did it cost. I find $160 for the Cummins pieces a little hard to swallow.

Thanks

Yeah, I do recall reading that post. I have seen similar connections on ebay for a lot less. I've tried emailing the seller(s) for specific dimensions, but haven't had any luck.

Also, could you add your flickr site address to your signature?

Thanks

I used the Cummins parts. My memory is a bit fuzzy on the details but I think the connector was a used item. Don't recall exactly how much the two items cost me, but I do recall thinking it was high . . .

I had tried previously and it would not accept it or save it ; so I have tried again !! If it does not show at the bottom of this post , look at post #948 it is in the signature !!

I finally completed the 50 pin harness that Lee Reiff sent me ! I had to cut it open and change some wires to different pins for MY application and eliminate other wires ! It only took over 3 hours to align the roughly 38 pins left with their corresponding holes so it would go back together and I could glue it and seal it !!

I wanted to throw out a HUGE " THANK YOU " to Macet for emailing me a parts list to change my oil pan to REAR SUMP ; I pray it works !!

Sorry guys - apparently I didn't have my subscription set up correctly on this thread.

Everything I used I purchased directly from my Cummins distributor. I spent hours researching lots of part numbers and really starting to know these engines and their many variations.

As far as my first rebuild, I used standard size pistons and just honed the block.

I think the reason I'm in this situation is because the po clearanced the oil pan and mine is painted on the inside and the paint chipped off and went thru the engine.
Again, I'm late... but I've accumulated a huge inventory of parts during the course of a couple rebuilds and buying some auction lots. Shoot me a PM if you need something as I need to start cleaning out the garage since the project is done!

Got the Dana 300 rebuilt and FLIPPED using Novak adapters flip kit and will have to use WestCoast Fabworks cable operated shifters ( which are twin sticks ) !
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4029/...7ebfd5f9_m.jpg

Learned a $150 dollar lesson .... Novak Adapters " Twin Stick " option DOES NOT work if you flip the Dana 300 to a drivers side drop !! There salesperson said it would work !!

I purchased a 2006 Dodge Cummins 5.9L A/C Bracket , since the bolt holes looked close I was willing to pay the ebay vendor $20 for the off chance it would line up ; and much to my surprise , he informed me he had a 7 day return policy and if it did not fit I could return it and only be out the shipping charges ! He also had a powersteering pump and bracket for $115 for the pair ; unfortunately it was not a perfect fit but, I believe I can make it work. And , I hope so , since the Cummins Powersteering pump parts that run off the rear gear train is in the $1100 range !!

Well, I'll be damned , but it fit perfectly !!! I now have a provision for Air Conditioning !! I thought ya'll would like to see it and I updated my flickr account with numerous pics !!

and here is a pic with my stock 4.0L gas engine A/C compressor bolted onto the Diesel bracket and other than the gas compressor has a 6 rib not an 8 rib V-belt pulley it is a perfect fit !

Just wanted to give some updates on my swap. I post all my stuff on a local jeep forum for me (minnesota), and here is the link with a lot of pictures and some videos of the swap so far:

http://www.mn-jeep.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5938

Hope to have the jeep on the road after memorial weekend potentially. We'll see how far it gets.

EDIT: Also, again i want to state that I didn't swap a B3.3, but a Cummins A2.3 turbo diesel instead, but the swap uses similar tranny adapters and methods and such.

Aftermarket V-Bland Clamp & Flange

Hulk,
I found the V-band rings & clamps on http://www.siliconeintakes.com/index...d28fea3c7b2ae2 . From the drawings, it looks like the 2.5" flange will fit the Mitsubishi turbo on my QSB3.3T. The site shows the 2.5" clamps are out of stock, but I received an email 5/29/10 stating that the clamps "are now IN STOCK and ready to be ordered".

If you plan on installing a flexible coupling in your exhaust system, I've found them here: http://www.verociousmotorsports.com/...xible-Coupling . For turbocharged engines, the site suggests using the coupling with interlock liner "to facilitate smooth flow of high temperature exhaust gases, thus making them ideal for........turbo charged applications".

.

95Z , Check your PM box !!

Thank you for the links ....... they appear to have almost ALL of the little bits and pieces I will eventually need , but had not even started thinking about them YET !!! And, to beat it all , they have realistic prices , which is welcome any time during a project !!!

I even found a " pre-intercooler " cooler for about $40 and a intake pressure tester ( tests for leaks ) for $30 ; which are things I had not even thought about , but would be very valuable tools to have !!!

The company siliconeintakes sells the exhaust flages in a set of 2 !! I will only need one of these and they are 2.5 inch ID and 3 inch OD ; so , if any one needs the other , I will sell it shipped to your door for $12 !! Send me a PM if interested !!

DON'T GET IN A HURRY ON THE PRODUCTS FROM SILICONEINTAKES THEY ARE OUT OF STOCK ON ABOUT 90% OF THEIR INVENTORY ( NAMELY 2.5" V-BAND CLAMPS ) !! BUT , THEY DO HAVE THE EXHAUST FLANGES !!
