Thanks guys. A CPL 2673 skid mount with 197 hrs sold on ebay for $3k recently. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=330231945534 I was unsure if it had the correct style injection pump. Are all of the rotary pumped B3.3T automotive style pumps?.

I've also seen a new CPL 2676 82 hp B3.3T inline pumped engine on ebay for $4750. Is the inline pump on this engine automotive style? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...244969602&rd=1

Macet, doesn't ESN mean "engine serial number"? Without having an engine parts list at my disposal, I don't understand how the ESN can help me locate an engine with the specific components (such as automotive style injection pump, aluminum flywheel housing, double crank pulley, etc.) I need/want for the conversion. It is my understanding that the ESN is specific to an individual engine, but a CPL is specific to a particular "build" of an engine family and can span across model years. Correct?

Thanks,
Mike

If by "automotive style" you mean how the governor is setup then I don't think any of them are like that. I think they are all setup to maintain an approximately constant rpm dependent upon the fuel lever position. Mine drives a little different than my VW's rotary pump which has an automotive style governor, but not radically different.

For example in the jeep when I'm going down a hill and remove my foot from the pedal and still picking up speed (basically the momentum of the jeep is spinning the engine and no fuel is being used) and then come to the bottom and start going up the other side it felt a little odd at first because nothing would happen until I pressed the fuel pedal in far enough to where the governor sensed you were asking for a higher rpm than what the engine was presently at. In the VW you can feel a more progressive response in this situation.

Maybe some of the other guys who are driving theirs can respond on this issue as well.

Here is what I have gathered about CPL (Critical Parts List)...On the engines we build here, on the parts list there is a PP option which is the CPL number. This number describes all critical parts that effect emissions and is reported to the EPA. I have a way to explode our CPL/PP numbers but not any off our 3.3's. I am going to dig farther on this subject. Where are you guys finding these numbers? I have not seen my CPL# yet. We need an application engineer to chime in...

It's coming along nicely Macet.

Is your frame connection bolted/welded to the frame? What kind of metal (mild steal? how thick?) are you using? What kind of welder did you use?

Might want to keep an eye on the mounts to see if they sag. Adding some gussets might be a good idea to add some verticle strength if they start to bend/sag.

Its all welded. I used a 110v Miller mig, it does well with the 1/4, 5/16 is pushing it. The angle brackets are 2.5" 1/4 thick mild steel. The horizontal pieces extended from the frame are 2.5" 5/16 thick. I welded in those gussets TDI mentioned in Monday. I'll post some more Pics of that today.

I don't have CPL # on my data plate... I will have a pic of that posted also.

I'm a novice welder, only have a stick welder, and was scared to weld to the frame. It seems like it's a tougher metal than the mild steel pieces I used for my mounts but was affraid I'd burn through. Did you have any issues with frame?
