I think I know what your saying...I locked the first one at 300 FT lbs...Then locked the second one at 300 FT lbs against each other...I'm I missing something??Then 4 spot welds....I don't think the spot welds will do much....Because I hardly got the metal hot for a really deep penatration..

You may just have pioneered a new fix...
I was going to go with the next size bigger...But when I looked at it,the tapp would of taken a big portion on the nut metal and tread away away..

Looks good! I think that should deffinetly fix the problem. The aftermarket one I used had set screws about the same size as the ones you used. 25,000 kms and counting (fingers crossed)

It's amazing how strong those little set screws are for holding ability. Looks like a good mod for a on going issue.

Should be ok for my truck being that I don't race it or drive it hard.I couldn't see myself spending over $1,000 for a output shaft unless I really had to..If it works for many miles,great...If it does fall off...Oh well, I tryed something different..A modded double nut ..

Good job buddy. Can't wait to see you do a hard 3rd gear boost launch to see how everything holds together. Just remember to be nice when your blowing the doors of Tate's dually.
