Posting from a sketchy internet connection in Quito, Ecuador.

I work for the largest Espar dealer in North America so I'm obviously a little bit biased.

I've used mine 4 times this year already - no regrets whatsoever.

I use mine year round up until I had issues with it a couple months ago. Now its back in service, I use it atleast once a day. Winters would suck even more without it.

Festus can you forward me the contact, too? I am a little curious as working in the industry I have a pretty good idea of who all is selling them.

To clarify from the last page, the 2nd gen kits have been discontinued, but the normal truck kits work fine.

For anyone planing on buying one and installing it yourself I can give you a solid deal.

Anyone know how many hours these espar D5 units are good for before a rebuild. If it means anything my unit is completely sealed away in my truck box cabinets, no snow, water, salt, and sand.

Instructions say its good to tear it apart and give it a good cleaning once a year. That being said, I've gone 3 years without ever taking mine apart. Only issues have been related to extra-concentrated antifreeze gelling, and my intake/exhaust pipes plugging.

Having it sealed away, as long as it can draw clean air, will definitely help the service life.

Espar gives a 2yr / 2000hr warrenty on these units, so I would like to say that is probably the number of hrs they are good for before a rebuild.

Now with that being said, there really are too many variables to give you a solid answer on the hrs. They seem to last the longest, if they are run periodically throughout the year. Obviously winter they get a good workout, but lots of them come summer just get shut off. The more time they get to spend on high or boost the longer they seem to go for as well as it keeps them from carboning up. If you do have a heater that is carboning up, run it on kerosene or gasoline for a few minutes, it should clean it right up.

On Monday I will look up what the actual estimated life of the unit hrs are.

Sorry guys. I haven't been able to be online in a bit. I got my kit through a buddy's sister over at Sherwood Park Dodge - I did pick up and pay direct over at Polar though.

If here is solid commitment, I could call her and see what the cost per would be on a specific number.

Let me know.

Ive been told that before from a trucker and long time Espar/Webasto user - he told me to use it in the summer too.
