Also one of the guys that I deal with on injectors for automotive apps, is friends with the Hargett guys, so I can get a bit of a deal on those.
Vibrant also does their own version of the Hargett clamp now:

They offer a 3.5", but it is more pricey yet.

I ran 90-95 psi on my previous twin setup (HT60 over an HX40 [didn't bother to measure drive pressure at that point...
) with just silicone couplers, cheap princess auto t-bolt clamps, and a few home made versions of this: 
Mine were just tabs with holes in them welded on to the charge piping and turbo (like on Barber's setup) and just a piece of flat bar with holes between them couple of short bolts and nuts, done. Wasn't pretty but the coupler or the charge pipe it's self would have burst before that would have let go.

the pipe retainers are just like the whip checks. on most lines on a drilling rig. but they;re more for safety. so if a line trys to blow the whipping hose doesn't kill someone. they more often use welded tabs. on either side of the joint and a made to fit cable. cheap and easy to do. you could make up cables pretty easy and way cheap.

My favorite thing about the hargett's is that you can undo them with one hand. That doesn't sound like a big deal until you have tried to get a v-band that is in an awkward spot done up by yourself.

If we use the v band clamps, the air tube should come off in minutes. My old twins did anyways. I just used hose and clamps. It held to 80psi. I still haven't had a chance to go and scope out a new primary for the twins. I really don't want something off the shelf

Price wise, you can't beat using a S480SX or S510 turbo. Its half the price of the Garrett GT47 or the GT55. I think that it should work fine, but I still want to look into smaller a/r ratios for the compressor and turbine housing for the S510. I'm guessing that the compressor housing is 11 to 12inch in diameter

. I measured my T-88 and its 88mm inducer size (rated 1000-1400hp), which is inbetween the S480 and S510 turbo. So we have a few options. We could try all three turbos for almost the same money as the GT4718R

We can take our time at building the twins up, so the sticker shock is will a little less. I personally hate buying turbos over the $1k mark, so, I can feel your pain. The GT4718R was $3600

The turbo specs are 76/74 with .90 AR
and 80/88 with 1.32 AR
Mike how does these numbers look? I believe that they are both S400 frame turbos. I dont know how much they are yet,, just checking into it

Kev, I don't have any maps for the K-31 yet. The GT-42 has a slightly more efficencent wheel design (rated at 78% vs the S400 76%), which turns into more heat/power requirements for the S400 vs the GT42. Garrett and Borg Warner rate there A/R ratios different and do a different turbine disk design. So I'm guessing that the S400 (74/77)A/R 0.9 is a better choice, but I would guess that there is no internal gate on it. Which could be a good/bad thing. I like to options when it comes to tuning the twins. I think you said that it cames with an external 50mm gate, in the twins set-up. I would need to run them to see what the truck would want, as sometimes when you open up a big 50mm gate, you could bypass the secondary, if there isn't enough mass flow to lite the S480 (primary), it will fall on its face. Testing would determine the gates spring rates and opening pressures on the gates.
