Blew apart both of my Bilstien 5100's.
Ordered up some shocks and was going to put them in, but they were the same length as my original Bilstiens. To short! After all the snow was melted off of the back of my truck it is now 26 inches from top to bottom mount. These ones only extend to 29 inches. Air time on frost heaves and ruts and potholes with full suspension travel are a daily occurrence! Besides, these pro comp shocks looked pretty pathetic beside the bilstiens. Just look at the bushings. I think it would take me about a month to hammer out the cheap bushings with 1/2 the metal ring!
Swamp.
The proComps come in longer lengths as well,(upto 6inch???) I believe stock they were like 60$ and 80ish for longer ones. as for the bushings I wore ONLY one out on one shock and bought a of bushings (like 20$ for 2) they are a poly something material and seem pretty stout, funny that only one bushing went and the others are holding fine. should you need a set I bought too many and have a spare set should you need them
I have the rear carli springs as well and I still have not replaced the rear Stock lenght shocks, they have not broke...yet. but the ride in the rear is a little harsh compared to the front, now with the KYB in the front I did not notice alot of difference between KYB & Bilestein.(could have been because I had the wrong springs!)
on an off note I finially got my new Hemi coils last week (from HRT) and installed them...WOW they are an improvement over the "wrong" springs I had, the difference between them was the hemis have a 20mm diameter and the other ones have a 23mm diameter, all other dementions were the same, BUT with the smaller coils the truck now sits one inch lower, which explains why with the orginal set the front of my truck was so high!!
so far I have not been able to duplicate the front wheel hop!
