Bilstien 5100 installed
Just finished installing Bilstiens all around. Got some tips for Crabjoe's thread here:
https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...ck+replacement
I started taking the battery tray out then after looking real hard.. it was more than I wanted to do, so instead, I just remove the nut from the mount in the engine compartment and slip the shock out. Fortunately for me, none of the nuts were frozen.
The hardest part was compressing the Bilstiens to bolt in the mount. What a pain. I couldn't do it by myself, had to have the wife help, she's all proud about it too. There's got to be an easier way..
You guys that installed the Bilstiens, did you re-use the OEM bushing or the ones that came with the Bilstiens? Tell me it's the latter cause I'm not looking forward to compressing them shocks again.
As for the rear.. It was much easier..
Thanks
