another guage problem for you guys

I've got everything hooked up except my boost line. I have autometer phantom guages so there's wires everywhere. My problem is; when I turn on ignition, tranny temp guage immediately goes right up to over 250* without even starting the engine. Do I have the positive and negative reversed or what? After starting engine, no reading on pyro; doesn't even budge. Shouldn't it move a little when engine is idling? I'm baffled!

Got my keyed power from the #28 fuse under the hood. Pyro doesn't move while driving.

Make sure you are grounded to bare metal and separate the grounds if you have more than one tied together

Well the best power for gauges i found is lighter plug. On the 3rd gen anyway. ya just go over your grounds and make sure its bare metal.

Okay, thanks to all. Got the tranny guage working. It was a bad connection at the sender. I'm using the same ground location for all. Tranny works, lights for guages work so I assume the pyro should work. Might have to separate that one eh?

Check the connections at the back of the gauges. When I first put gauges in the dually, my pyro would read 1000F at idle, and peg out just idling down the road. One of the wires in the connector had pulled back a bit, causing a poor connection and wacky readings.
