I've run my Smarty with all emissions equipment intact and plugged in. I gained ~1mpg average in varied driving. The throttle response is much improved especially in the low rpm range

I've gathered a pile of parts to try and see what combo works for me. I'm in Cali so I have emissions testing every other year, so I take that into consideration. I have a Smarty S67 and an H&S XRT Pro with Norcaler's software for programmers. I have a delete pipe from turbo to muffler as well as a stock DPF/NOX section hollowed out as well. I haven't started playing yet, but I like the stealth of the stock canisters as opposed to the delete pipe. That's where I'll start and try it with the Smarty to get some baseline numbers. Norcaler is close to me, so I will also work with Aaron to optimize the H&S for my truck.

We don't have emissions on diesels here. I just worry about my warranty.

either way the warranty should be considered iffy! Deleted or not, adding a programmer can be detected by the dealer techs if they look hard enough.

I understand that. I'm not gonna do a programmer unless I do deletes. Especially if I would only get 1 mpg better.

Look up sims here or at cumminsforum. Some guys have deleted with no programmer at all just removing the DPF/NOX and installing sims.

Lots of us have run SIMS for extended periods of time. Having SIMS as an option even if you go the tuner route is useful if you need to flash back to stock for some reason but don't want to have to put all your hardware back to stock. If anyone wants more information, PM me. I wrote up a "HOW-TO' on the other forum but I don't want to crosslink.
