I've been thinking about buying a hemi to haul my 5th wheel. Lifetime warranty sounds like pay back on my end from them screwing me on my 99 dodge cummins. I know the gasser isn't going to get what my cummins gets for MPG but with diesel 50 cents a gallon more.....

I had a 95 dodge 360 that pulled a 5th simular to the one I own now, does anyone know what the hp and tq ratings were for the 95 360's?

230 hp/ 330 torque

I know because I had a 96 1500 with the 360. Nice engine, but it sucked fuel almost as bad as the V10 I bought the following year, and the V10 was way more powerful.

Thanks Wexman,
Got me thinking now, the Hemi has 100 Hp more than the 95 I had. Sounds tempting to trade, If only I had a way to know what fuel prices are going to do in the future.

I've been in this situation more times than I care to remember and always keep buying a cummins.

I also read on this that you have to follow the maintence program exactly as it is stated in the owners manual and you also have to bring it in for a "check up" (at your cost) every so many months or years .. If you don't follow ALL the rules and buy all the checks then it reverts back to a 3/36

thats true, and once the cost of repairs exceeds the value of the car or truck its over. they wont fix it.

diesels don't have the lifetime powertrain warranty cuz they can barely get a stock 48re or G56 clutch to hold up for the 36k bumper to bumper warranty.
Especially with all you SMARTY owners out there.

Not true on the warranty check at customer cost.

At 5 year intervals you have to bring it in for a checkup on Dodges dime.

You can also purchase separate lifetime bumper to bumper warranty, which is why though they will not pry my 12V from my fingers, I will be buying a gasser of some sort for my "other vehicle", probably a Caliber SE.
