Carquest has Limited Lifetime Warranty on Lift Pumps
I replaced my lift pump in Feb with a pump from Carquest since my truck had 102k miles at the time. I think Dodge replaced 3 under warranty.
I have the relocation kit and everything is stock on my truck.
The latest pump lasted 7k miles. I called Carquest and they have a "limited" lifetime warranty on the pump.
So my new strategy is to hang onto the receipts and just get a new one everytime it fails. I have the relocation kit so swapping it out is no big deal.
I have a spare that works about half way if I get caught out on the road and the pump completely fails.
This latest one failed like the last one. Pressure dropped down to about half or less of normal. Sometimes it would jump back close to normal and turning the truck off and restarting always put the pressure back to normal for a few minutes.
I wonder if one of the veins in the pump is sticking in some way and not pumping.
Anyway just thought someone might want to know.

Lifetime warrenty is good I was getting a pressure drop with my lift pump which would go away with a lot of throttle input or restarting the truck. Piperca recommended loosening the fuel cap to see if its a venting problem and so far it seems to be doing the trick.

Ph4tty,
The cap loosened had limited success for me. I have replaced the check valve on the VP, the banjo on the return line, and everything's cured ... running better than ever!
I also replaced the tank module and that got rid of the vacuum but did nothing for the fuel pressure ... the check valve is the way to go!

You have to check those "limited" lifetime warranties. Usually it means the lifetime of the part. I seen it where the "limited" lifetime for the part is two years. So you actually have a two year warranty because that is the "lifetime" of the part.
You might want to check it out.
