Where to get the best price on tires?
Hey guys I'm thinking about getting new tires for my truck and I was wondering where the cheapest place to get them would be. I am thinking either a mud terrain or a cool looking all terrain. I'll probably go with a slightly larger tire than stock, maybe a 295. If anyone has suggestions, I'd appreciate it. There's so many places out there it's hard to know where to start!

I use discount tire (american tire) in some states. they will match any advertised price and offer a replacement warranty that is unbeatable. tire goes bad--sliced --blow out---run over fence post---don't matter they will replace free of cost

When you order from Tirerack, either call them or wait till they call you, after you placed your order. If you order larger than stock tires they won't ship them until they talk to you and tell you they are "oversized." held me up one time for almost a week cause they didnt call. I have actually found a better deal now at my local "tire guy." It takes a little asking around, but I am sure every town has one. I just got my BFG a/ts (today in fact) 285-75r16 for 189 per tire, mounted and spin balanced, with new valve stems. And I drove up, told 'em what tires I wanted, pulled it into an open bay, hopped out and watched em change the tires right then and there (no appointment). Can't beat that when time is money!

By the time you pay for shipping and for a shop to mount and balance them you can usually save money by finding a small independent shop, just don't goto a Nat'l chain, they'll usually rape you. I went to a national tire and battery chain store and they wanted $200 a tire, a small independent had the same tire for $135, tirerack had it for $129 not counting shipping or mount and balance, Im sure thats not always the case but that was my experience last week.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I do appreciate it. At least I can mount the tires and stuff myself so that save some $$$.... I just figure I need something a little more aggresive to make this truck stand out a little bit you know. It's got attitude, and everyone should see it! I can't handle a truck that looks like everyone else's. Call it a curse or whatever, but I know I can make it better!
