19.5" tires - best price
I have paid any where from 200 to 400 a tire for the 2012 4500 service truck weighing about 22500, have tried almost everything out there currently Hankooks. The only tire that has got over 15k miles was the firestone 14 ply 225/70R19.5 highway tread. Fixing to spend just under $400 a tire on the 16 ply 245/70R19.5 Bridgestone highway tread to see if they get any better mileage.
15K!?
My eyes just bugged out. Is this typical mileage out of a 19.5" considering the weight of your vehicle?
Most of the information I do see on this website is that it barely wears. Of course, this is assuming the trucks are not weighing 22K lbs.
thanks

Wow, 15k miles. What are you doing to kill these tires that fast.
One thing for people to remember, 19.5 are a commercial tire, and not built to run 70+ mph all day long.
I run 225/70/19.5 on the Chevy service truck, and ran 245/70/19.5 on the Ford. Winter deep caps on the rears, ribs on the Chevy front, kumho krd02 on the Ford front. Fronts on the Ford wore a bit odd, but I expect that from that front end. Still, that said, I have never gotten less than 70k miles out of a set of tires. Anything less is unacceptable. I also don't run over 60mph for any length of time. I will go faster, but if I don't need to...
make sure inflation is just right too, makes a huge difference. Slightly under inflated produces heat issues.
Yeah, they are pricey. No matter where you get them.
