Speedo correction....

So, I guess it really IS that hard to find a decent dealership....

Called 5 dealerships in the DFW, TX area, and all wanted at least $95/hr to do it, 3 said 1.5 hrs labor to correct the speedo and inable high idle, 1 said 1hr labor, and one said they couldnt do it. The one that said he couldnt do it, I told him I know for a fact they can, and '06s are the year with limitations, and mine is a '05, and he still didnt even really know what I was talking about, just repeated what his "tech" said.

Anyone know of a way to dumb it down some, or maybe even a suggestion for a dealership that can do it? Or more importantly for a reasonable price. I remember guys on here posting they had it done for $30-40. I just want to have it done to maybe help the shift points, as they seem to be late now, since the speedometer is off.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hoyte Dodge in Sherman, TX fixed mine for bigger tires in less that 30 min. I also had them disable horn chirp on door lock. They charged me $56.

Wish they could get mine closer. I'd pay $500 to have it fixed. I'm really tired of doing math in my head every time I look at the speedometer! What was Dodge thinking when they designed the software for the new trucks??

Is it a downloader? And youll lose it when you pull the program off?

My Edge can do the speedo correction on the attitude display, but the shift points are off now, thats really the only reason I want it fixed, I can live with having less miles on the truck

Thanks guys, ill try to give them a shout at Hoyte Dodge.

For an extra $185 you can just buy a Smarty and that will fix it...and give you high idle too!

The high idle comes already enabled in the Smarty programs.

Doesn't seem to work on mine - do I still need to do the clutch switch thing?

was at 4wheel parts the other day and they claim to have a hypertech programer with their labeling on it and it is said to be able to recailbrate speedo for up to 54"tall tires, also it is a programer and had 6 power settings?
ran out of time at the store and really dont trust the sales staff at this location but it might be worth a shot, was marketed under the procomp label i think.
