My truck stinks

My truck stinks
It just has a bit of a musty odor. Its not when you turn the a/c on either. It can just sit in the garage for a week and when I get in it just smells bad.I make sure I crank the blower to max for a short bit with the a/c off to blow any water from the evaporator before shutting it down. There is nothing in the truck that could smell. My only thought is to try and get my hand under the carpet and check for dampness but this seems like a pain.
Anyone elses truck have a musty stink to it?
Thanks again for any help

Is it possible a passenger dropped something behind the rear seat or something? Thats a difficult one. But my Jackrussel dog left me a partly chewed bone that tucked way back in one corner once. I had a similar experience...

I have heard that sometimes the drip tube from the condenser clogs. The water just sits inside allowing mold to grow while slooooooly draining. Could try to blow some air up the tube to make sure is not that.

I'd bet it is from the AC system, and that smell kind of seeps into the cab when parked.
I cleaned mine by plugging the AC drain, and using a 1/2 gallon garden sprayer to blow Spray Nine into the evaporator via taking the fan motor out.
I let it sit for a while, then drained the cleaner into a container. It came out much dirtier than I figured. Then I rinsed the thing repeatedly with a garden hose.

Definitely check for dampness at the rear of the cab, both on the back wall and the floor, as the rear windows in these trucks have been known to leak (ask me how I know )
Here's a TSB addressing the issue.

I am getting the same smell out of my truck too. Kinda smells like someone did the old fish under the seat trick, but no fish??!! My truck sits outside all day and I don't get in it 'til 5pm or so. I rarely use the A/C unless I am on the highway and do not have any dampness inside the truck. Trying the new car scent tree now, hopefully that works.....

YEAH my truck smells bad too. Tell me more about the AC thing please. I just kind of ignore it but people have gotten in it and told me your truck stinks. I don't think it's the backwindow but I'll check next car wash. It never rains here.

As a side note, in the past I have removed the rear seats, the liner behind that, and the rubber backed carpet that lines the cargo area under the seat. Mine was bone dry, but it was the only way I could get every sign of the previous owner's dog out... None of that is too difficult or time consuming if you think you might have a rear window leak.
