Could you have just moved the spacers to the top like Ray did? Fortunately, I did not have the wheel well liners yet when I did mine and the U bolts were not a problem (mine's a 2500). The wheel well liners would slow things a bit as would taking the 3500 spring pack apart to remove another block.
The only thing that looked really whimpy was the plastic (!) center pin. I hate that!
I feel for you man, projects can really bog down. Especially when you don't want them to.

I removed my spacers about 1 month ago as well.... no vibration before or after the removal.... It was simple (took about 2 1/2 hours) to do both sides. the dowl on the bottom block can be taken out and placed in the bottom spring to aid in lining up the springs with the axles....

No I just wish it was possible to drop the front of my 4X4 about 4 inches and the rear another 4

Yes I could have moved my spacers to the top I think but was too stupid to think of this at the time. My motto is: "If it is a job worth doing why not screw it up the first time and do it again"
