"Lamp out" light on?
The 'lamp out' light is illuminated in my dash but i don't see any headlight, fog light, tail light or any other light that is burnt out. Is there something wrong electrically with the truck? Anybody experienced this before? What else should I check for other than burnt out bulbs since i did not see any?
I posted awhile back about this same problem. Check your brights. That bulb was out on mine for awhile and I missed it. Otherwise my light likes to come on...and I cannot figure out what bulb is out.
Good Luck!

You might actually be the very last of the '03 owners to not experience this yet.
Check the light over the rear window. If that is good and your license plate lights are good, buy a set of tail lights and replace them all. It isn't worth the bother otherwise. Use dielectric grease on the bases too.

This was pretty annoying up until the time a taillight actually failed.
Up until 04.5 or so, the taillight PCB has weak springs holding the bulbs in. Upgraded PCBs are available but I just cleaned and bent my springs a little closer together.
Somewhere here there is a thread on this subject with photos showing heat damaged contacts due to the weakness.

my 03 did it for about 1 year would ding for a week then go away for about 1-2 months then it would come back. I didnt have any lights out or anything, so i went it and found a ground wire in the light wire harness and spliced a piece of wire into it and screwed it right to the frame. seemed to do the trick. Make sure it is a ground wire tho.
