I did the cab lights on my MC. Only needed to drop the headliner down so it rested on the tops of the headrests. I didn't have to completely remove it. The biggest PITA was the rear entertainment system, so if you don't have that then it should be pretty easy.

Two notes:
The plastic trim for the A-pillar "scratched" the inside of my windshield when I pulled them out. Not really scratches but marks on the glass that I can't get out. Not real obvious, but visible if you look.

The plastic anchor nuts for the cab lights tend to spin if the hole is even just a little bit too big. You may have to use a part of pliers on the underside of the roof to hold the anchor while tightening the screws. Be sure to get them tight so the light will not leak.

would it hurt any thing by putting some sealer around the holes to make sure it doesn't leak?

I am not too sure how the light mount because I have never done it but I would say to put the sealer on the outside under the light if possible to avoid leaks. I say this because when you drill a hole there will be exposed metal (the inside of the hole) and the water could sit there if the sealant was on the inside. Hope this makes sense. I can picture it but kind of hard to explain

I left the headliner in as well, just got a small box and cut it down to about 4 inches thick. Then put the box under the hole I was going to drill, it holds the headliner down for you and catches the shavings from the drill bit at the same time.
