How to disable horn honking with door open and truck in gear

Backing up to the boat the other day I had the door open and so I could see better. I didn't know that the horn would start honking whenever the door was open and the truck was in gear. Is there anyway to disable this? It's so annoying!! Thanks

Eric

use a scotch lock and connect the two wires for the seatbelt. This will make the computer think the seatbelt is plugged in all the time. More more annoying dinging when moving the truck around without a seatbelt.

Scotch lock worked for me! If your truck came from the factory with this stupid setup, scotch lock or clicking the seatbelt in will work. If you had it done at dealer as part of the TSB or whatever, seat belt on or scotchlock trick WON'T work!

this is your only solution:

if the truck still honks when you have the seatbelt plugged in, scotch lock won't fix it either

Connect the driver seat belt and just sit on it, after your done just un-hook and everything is back to normal, don't do the center belt as this most of the time does not work.

Just learn to back up to trailers with mirrors. It just seems to be not that big a deal....to me. You can thank all the "lawyers for the people" that cause all this stuff to happen in the first place. No one seems to be willing to take resposiblilty for their own mistakes.

If you have a truck that came from the factory with this 'feature', you can just plug in the seatbelt. If your truck had the 'recal fix' performed, it won't.
