Horn honk alarm when door open and in gear
I know that the horn honk alarm when the door is open and the truck is in gear is a safety feature, but it is annoying.
I use my truck for towing and that means backing up to trailers. Most of the time i do this alone with no one to tell me left, right, front, back, etc. With the mega cab and the truck being new to me, judging distance to the ball is not something that I am dialed in on with this truck yet.
As with all previous vehicles, I jump out, take a look at where I am at, hop back in, and ease back to the trailer. Not with this truck.
If you don't close the door as you try to ease back a few feet the horn will honk and the lights will blink.
I am sure that it is something that I can and will have to live with, but it is annoying. Not to mention the fact that it makes you look like an idiot every time you forget and the alarm goes off.

I agree...it's a little more challenging to hook up the trailers in the Mega compared to my QC...I open the door while backing up (in certain circumstances) and the reverse alarm is driving me nuts.
I gotta go have my oil changed tomorrow, sure they'll do this "fix" as it's listed right on the invoice/coupon I have to use. Can't wait till the first time I forget as I'm sure I won't know what the he** is going on for the first few seconds!
I always drop the tailgate when backing as it helps me line up the center of the truck and boat. I allign the center marks of my bed liner to the winch on the boat. At least that way I just need to come back or forward not side to side.

**** YES I WILL!
Go to your local Camping World and pick up this little gadet designed for those of you that can't see the hitch and don't have help when hitching up. It includes 2 white poles attached to magnets. You attach one to the ball and one to the hitch of the trailer. Then just line the two up as you back up, when the one on the ball falls off stop. THey are now lined up

I bypassed the seat belt switch and no more honking, for 24 hours that is. Now it is honking again. I don't get it. I have the fuse out of the horn for now until I can figure out something else. This is the biggest bunch of crap I have seen. I guess I am a perfectionist and want the truck the way I want it, not some engineer that I don't even know.

Just tell them not to do the TSB. When I brought my truck to the dealer to get some warranty work on the A/C, he told me they were going to do the horn honk/reverse TSB, I told him I didn't want that done. After a brief discussion' (him saying they had to do it, me saying they need to rethink that) he had me sign on the repair order that I was declining having it done, the did the A/C work, and I was good to go. Just say no!

You're one of the lucky ones... I had to go all the way to NHTSA Lawyer's before the dealership would do warranty work WITHOUT performing the Recall....
