Coolant Change/Now have higher temps

Changed out my coolant on Saturday, used Zerex-G-05. I have a 50-50 mix
(265°F boiled over protection is 50-50 mix, mine is at 262°F) and coolant level is full. I even cleaned my radiator, intercooler, etc., with the hose/degreaser. I used distilled water with my antifreeze, even dumped in a bottle of Redline Water Wetter. Now my temps are 5-6 degrees higher!! Ambient temp was only 60 degrees this morning. I am reading my coolant temp from my Edge monitor. Needle seems to be a little higher on the idiot gauge too. What give?? Any ideas??

Some kind of airlock?

Might try (with it COOL) taking the cap off, let the truck run for several minutes with it off, see if she'll burp some.

5-6 deg's is not much to be worried about.
I would guess its the Redline.
Redline water wetter works best with 80% water, and 20% coolant.

But you never know, you could very well have an air bubble.

Watch your coolant level over the next couple days. Run your heater.

Not to hijack your thread here, but did you do a complete flush or just drain the radiator? And how many gallons did you use? Thanks, getting ready to do a radiator drain and refill.

I'd also say you have an air trapped in the system. Or maybe the radiator cap or a hose connection is malfuntioning. If the coolant system can't build pressure, the motor will run warmer.

I just drained and flushed my system a couple of weeks ago before our trip to New Mexico. Mine took 3 1/2 gallons of Zerex GO-5 and 3 1/2 gallons of distilled water to refill it. I also added one bottle of RP Purple Ice to it. I let the truck come up to temp with the cap off to get all the air out of the system before I put the cap back on. My temps are the same as before the flush but I have noticed the temps will come down faster now with the Purple Ice added.

one more thing- i have a brand new radiator cap-it is a mopar cap- 17psi- i was told it replaced the one that came with the truck- a 16psi cap! but i had the cap on now for a couple of months- i also had a bottle of redline in her before the flush!. ran the truck at work for 30 minutes, with the cap off, the heater on high. i thought it burped because the level of the coolant rose some in the radiator after 20 minutes or so. drove the truck home- truck still hit 196 degrees when i hit the go pedal on the highway-drops back to 189 degrees fast, though- truck never ran higher than 190 degrees before the coolant change!!!
