5.9 ECM program info please

Looking to have the dealer enable some of the functions in the ECM with the Star Scan tool. They want a list in writing, which I have a few things that I liked on my '06. Is there a "menu" or list of programs or a link somewhere that I can print out and check off to have them enable what I want done?

Examples so far:

Daytime running lamps
High Idle function
Driving lights on with the high beams? ( I think I read I can have this programed).
Honk reverse DISABLED
Headlights to come on when the keyfob is pressed.

Others?

Thanks!

I thought once you had the out of park recall done it was not reversible. I could be wrong.

Fog lights w hi beams not an option nor is eliminating the reverse alarm.
Why don't you just ask to be present and go down the menue......smogasboard style

I have asked to already. They still want a list, and are telling me they really don't like customers back with the techs.

Thanks for the update on the lights and horn function. I am gettin two different stories on these options. Maybe it was only good on the '06?

My understanding is that once enabled or if already there the reverse horn honk can not be disabled any way. Most just hook up the seatbelt, even if only to itself. A few have also just gotten an extra end to plug in so thats another option. The high idle works on the autos as is, but if a standard shift it requires 1 additional wire added to the ECM to function or a part from Cummiins part (don't knw part number). As far as any of the other items you mentioned, don't know.

^ I would have a hard time telling my customer that just spent 50K on a new friggin truck that he can't "be" with the tech. Tell him that all of this can be done in the daggone parking lot if he pulls the "insurance" line on ya! (Some say that insurance won't cover customers in the shop!) MY truck and MY money go where I can watch the tech work on my truck ( usually because I am the one doing it!) But, I have told numerous customers to tell the service manager and sales manager that and it seems to strike a nerve! Doesn't seem to be much of an issue after the really know how you feel.

Thanks all. I have found a new web site: http://www.dcctools.com/en/starscan/index.html
and will start a new thread on it for anybody else. The good thing is there is a couple phone#'s to call the folks that actually make the tool. I have not called them yet to ask if they can fax me a "list" of Customer preferences to take to the dealer.

I already had a discussion with the service manager. My first step is to be well versed on this stuff and get them to do it right the first time. Last time my '06 was in three times. The dorks did not realize that they had to disconnect the battery or "keep alive memory" fuse to make the options take effect.

ANYTHING is reversible....however, this is their LEGAL way out of a few (perhaps several) trucks backing up on their own.

Oh boy.... Yeah it does happen .

2 week old bumper I had replaced out of pocket on my 04.............. Backing up to a trailer at 6am............. Stopped and nudged the lever back into park........... Jumped out to see how close I was............ Truck popped back into gear.

Put a nice little dent in my new bumper. All I could do was laugh.

I was in between park and reverse and when I slammed the door it must have popped back into reverse.... either that or I never put it fully into park...

At any length it I don't think that honk feature would have helped much. It just happened too fast. Only thing it would have probably done is make me hit something, with my fist.

I was just glad it didn't push the trailer into the garage door which behind it sat an M code dart and infinity G35 that combined were worth more than the house they resided in

Every once in a while, I have it happen to me; startles me for the first 2 seconds! Of course if they used a soothing female voice, guys would leave the door open while driving forward!
