Can smarty program a remanufatured ecm?

If i buy a remanufactured ecm to replace the original one who got corrosion, can i use smarty to download the stock program into it instead of ttowing the truck at the dealer? Anybody did this before or heard of anybody doing it? Thanks

I only know about Mopar Remans, they are not programed and if you have auto theft (SKIM) then the WCM needs to run a PCM replace in order to transfer secret security Key code to PCM. If you do not transfer code you will have no start condition.

Read PDF file for Verification PCM

If the reman ECM is preloaded with your VIN the Smarty should work. If not it's a trip to the dealer.

Thank you both. Do you know a good source to procure a remanufactured ECM with an affordable price who should last for at least a year? Just asking...The truck is sitting in the drive way and is killing me...

Benny @ www.moparparts4less.com might be able to help.
I've also heard Steve White Motors also.

Thank you all again. Curently, due to circumstances out of my control, my budget and the goverment's budget are very low and i'm looking to spend no more then about 350. The recommended websites sell the ECM well above 600. After performing more research and listening to the nas conversations, I have found the cheapest price would be in the 300 range more or less, if I would purchase an A1Cardone remanufactured, which sounds pretty good. The trick is, everybody is out of stock and I am out of luck. They don't know when it will be available again. Keeping my eyes open, maybe I'll find one forgoten somwhere...

zman, check https://www.automodulesource.com/ call them and ask for Lisa or Barbara. I just bought one for $550 with a 1 yr warranty, paid $50 more for 2 more years of warranty.

I ordered it Friday, received it today. Already programmed for my truck.

Unhappy

Thank you Bradleyras. I will call them. Can you tell me how it's working for you? Did you get it, installed it and drove the truck arround for a while? Do you have to take another trip to the dealer after you put it in your truck? Anymore programming needs to be done to it? How was customer service?
I'm asking all this because i would like to know what to expect if I buy one from this guys. Thanks again.
