When I spoke with the rep back on 2/6, she said that was the ESTIMATED shipp date - so it's highly likely that once they get enough of a load - the ship sails. The 18th, 20th - who knows?

I wouldn't hold your breath. We'll see our trucks in about a month, maybe.

Build Date Shows as Feb 12th (A Thursday build date, everyone should have been in a good mood)

Current status shows: Gateline Schedule

What is Gateline Schedule?

Gateline schedule means that it's ready to be built, it is referred to as D1 status. Did they give you a vin yet?

I don't think the Insight site has been updated in a while. When I checked yesterday, still showed as D1 as of 2/5, yet it is 2 weeks later. I had a VIN number when I called the 800 number on 2/6/04. Yours had a D1 of 2/12. You SHOULD be able to get a VIN from the 800 number.

After yours is built. You should have yours shortly after that, maybe 2 weeks. If you lived in the north east, your wait would be alot longer than that. Mine was built 1/5/04 and it still is in Mexico, waiting to be shipped by boat!!!

Good luck
Odie

Ordered 12/15
D1 12/18
Built 01/05
released from factory 01/25
at Vera Cruz 01/26
Still waiting for Boat!!!! 02/17
After ship leaves approx. 8 days to Port Newark
14 days after that truck is due in Rhode Island
1 or 2 days to prep.
5 years to pay off

You might want to check out a link that was given earlier on this thread. It was posted by dawall on page 5. It will take you to the web site that the dealers use to track their vehicles. You will need the dealer # you can find this number on your vehicle printout from the dealer. The # is on the top center and bottom right on the printout. You can use either the V.O.N. or V.I.N. The Vin you can use either the complete number or just the last 8 digits. I followed my truck while on the rail car on this sight, it gave me the different towns the train was going through. It will also tell you the status through the build process. I ordered on 1-7-04 my truck is now sitting in St Louis waiting to be loaded on the transport. I should receive my truck in the next 5-7 days!

I just got off the phone with DC. They said my truck is still scheduled to ship 2/20 and its ready to head down the assembly line......anytime soon. But its now going to ship via rail and not by boat!!!

I checked the website and it still shows shipping via boat to the port of Baltimore. I don't think that site is current and agree with others that it shouldn't be trusted. Its a great guide, but by no means don't hold anybody to the information found on that site! Just my opinion...

Interesting, NJ Tackle, since you and I are relatively close. Both are trucks were (or are) scheduled to ship around the same time, and were (or are) scheduled to go to Baltimore.

Maybe they'll be on the same train. I STILL don't think we'll see them before the 10-15 of March, but I HOPE I'm wrong!

The website is bogus. IF you call the DC number, they are obviously getting their info from somewhere else in their computer system. They knew my name, etc.

But, this DOES explain why the dealers may seem clueless about the whereabouts of orders. It's not their fault - it's that inaccurate Insight site.

DavidNY03,
I never quite knew what to believe; the DC's Insight Network told the dealer one thing, and the DC customer help line said another. In hindsight, the 1 800 number (which I called twice, on a Friday) knew when the boat was sitting in port, and was able to tell me what date it left and what date it arrived in Baltimore. The only time the Insight Network was correct was the day the truck loaded onto the carrier (Feb 12th). Insight estimated it would then be delivered on the 17th; it was delivered the evening of the 12th. Also, turns out that my truck was the only one on the carrier. The other diesels they have ordered are still listed as 'in storage'. Maybe the dealers should just call the customer help liner like everyone else. They (customer service) seem to have access to better info...

D1 Finally!

Our order was placed on 1/21. Now it's scheduled to ship on 3/2 by rail to NC.

I was sitting in BX so long I was wondering if my dealership had any allocation whatsoever.

The countdown begins!

Where in Socal are you located? I'm in San Diego and am about ready to order an 04.5 600. Dealers says 8 to 10 weeks. Is that realistic?

8-10 weeks is the standard answer that DC provides. I ordered mine on Feb 3 and should have it mid March. My build date is today and supposedly, it should be delivered three weeks later. I'm also located in SoCal, up near LA.

Ship dates tend to be about 2 weeks after a "build" date, or D1 status. For instance, I went D1 on 2/5, and it is scheduled to ship today. From there, it is a MINIMUM of 2-3 weeks, even if you are in So Cal.

I'm not expecting mine until mid-March.

Diirk - if your build date (D1) is today, then your truck probably won't ship for a couple weeks. I'd say you have a while yet.

As to the other questions, I'd say for someone ordering now, with the materials holds, 10 weeks would probably by a minimum

It will be 8-9 for me (assuming my current rate), and I went to D1 fairly quickly.
