2004.5 Order Status / Where's my truck?!
NJtackle
Ordered mine 9 weeks ago, Monday is 10 weeks. Truck was built 1st. week in January. According to DC the truck was shipped on Jan 25th, by rail to Veracruz.(it's still sitting on the docks and my ETA dates keep changing) I sure hope your wait isn't this long. As of 5 minutes ago my ETA is 02/28.
Good luck
Odie
PS
"Veracruz" must be translated "SSSLOW Cruise"

Insight Network...
I don't think the information on the insight network is very accurate.
The "future" date due in Port of Newark keeps changing to the current date (same date as last updated). The ETA to dealer is forecasted at 14 days after that date.
By the time they update the actual date in port I am guessing I may already have my truck.
The excitement of getting a new truck is wearing thin when you have no clue when it may arrive.

I'm reading about all the horror stories of how long people need to wait for their trucks via boat. Mine is schedule to leave Vera Cruz and arrive in Baltimore, MD

I just called the DC 800 number and it looks like I'm way out. I ordered 1/10 and originally had a build date of 2/2 now they more or less said they were out of manual transmissions. They said it might get scheduled in March or April and then there is 3 weeks or so shipping time.
Guess I should have ordered a 05
Just had to vent. Misery loves company.

This doesn't make sense. You ordered well before the hold, and you had a build date: that is D1 status. When a truck is D1, it means that ALL parts are available, and is assigned a VIN. A truck will not be scheduled unless the parts are available. Who gave you that information in the first place? Either you were originally given the incorrect info, or whomever you just spoke with misunderstood you, heard "manual transmission", and gave you a stock reply.
For instance, I ordered 1/19, went D1 WITH a VIN on 2/4/04, and have an estimated ship date of 2/18.
Check with them again, and check with your dealer. Hopefully, your truck is built.
Wexman,
Thanks I am as confused as you. I could not understand how all the parts were available and now they are not but that is what it is in a nut shell. The first time I called I felt like something was wrong. It seemed like the person was having a problem finding my record or something but they did find it. Today when I called I was on hold for 5 minutes while they looked it up.
Also I checked the website that was listed in this thread and put in my VON and it says it found record 1of1 but there was nothing there but a the header.
I think it is lost in the Bermuda Triangle. I actually don't mind waiting a while but not knowing what is going on and feeling somewhat like I'm being jerked around is killing me. I think it is time I had a long talk with sales manager.

Ken, I would recommend you call back, and ask for a status - i.e. - "BG", "D1, etc. Then, go see your dealer for an update also.
If you WERE D1 on 2/2, then your truck should be built, or DC should be able to give you a VIN.

Wexman,
You should be getting your truck any day.
I read on TDR today that someone in Canonsburg, PA truck just showed up at the dealer today.
Also read lsat friday that someone rec'd their truck in York county, PA.
I would guess that these trucks came in through Baltimore.

DavidNY03/Wexman,
The fellow in Canonsburg's truck is coming via rail; I'm the one in York Co. and mine came via boat. Takes a week for the boat to make the trip; took twice as long to get the boat to leave port. Mine was built on the 5th, shipped on the 7th, the boat was supposed to sail on the 21st but didn't leave 'till the 28th. Arrived in the port of Baltimore on Feb 4th, where it sat in a bay 'till the 12th. The good news is rather than hauling it to one of Maryland's holding pens it was put on a truck & sent straight to my dealer along with 4 others...

Elmo,
How did you track the boat? It is my understanding that the boat was headed to Port of Newark after Baltimore. My truck should be on that boat.
DC can not give me any updates on my truck since 1/20/04.
So how is your new truck?
Thanks,
David

My truck is not even due to be shipped until 2/18 (tomorrow). It then has to come through the Baltimore. So, IF they are on schedule, I am not expecting to see my truck at the dealer until at least mid-March.
