I just logged into Insight also, and it is indeed updated.

KZ status 2/18/04, due into Port of Baltimore 3/3/04, due into dealer 3/15. It takes 12 days to get from the Port to suburban Philly? I can drive there in under 2 hours.

Still, this is very cool.

Hey Wexman, Congrats!

You and I ordered on the same day. Mine's yet to be built, but it is in D1 status, due to be shipped on 3/2. I bet it's nice to be able to put a date on the delivery!

Have fun,
David

Wexman - Congrats! Your baby is built and shipped. I hope it knows how to swim!

So you are telling me they updated their website from D1 to KZ within 24 hours after shipping? That's pretty cool.

Mine still shows a D1 status and scheduled to ship tomorrow. Hopefully its already built. I hear bad things about cars/trucks being built on a Friday!

Called the dealer today and they just confirmed what I already know, except for the shipping part. He can't nail down if its going via boat, rail or both.

Thanks guys. "Elvis has left the building".

I hope when it docs in Baltimore it won't take 12 days to offload and truck up to my dealer. My dealer is a very large one, so maybe they have some "pull" to get their stock. We'll see.

All the rest of you guys, hang in there.

I bought from Anderson Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. They got me a pretty good price, not quite as good as others on here have got, but they worked very hard to sell me a truck and, to me, that's worth something. I went to Carl Burger's and gave them a printout of my specs showing both invoice and MSRP and asked them to give me their price. When I finally did hear from them a week later, they told me that they "couldn't give me a price yet but come on in and we can work on it." Not how I like business to be done. I have nothing against them though.

I'm actually glad I bought from AZ because it will give me plenty of time to get to know my baby on the trip back home.
Nice little trip.
I've been talking with the fleet manager at San Diego Dodge in National City.
Says he can give it to me for 500 over dealer inv. The list price on the one I spec'd was 42,375. Dlr invoice was 37,958 + 500 = 38,458 + fees and - 2500 rebate.
I'm going to probably cut out about 1,400 of options so that should make it even better

Me truck was built yesterday 2/19 and will ship today 2/20, according to DC rep!

Wexman....I think its pretty safe to say that when they give a ship date, the build date is 2 working days before. I also agree that they try to ship once they are built, unless they fail QC test and need to be fixed. I hope she enjoys her 2 week vacation cruise, 'cause once she gets home I'm going to break her in NICE AND HARD!!!!!

I should see me ride in 2-3 weeks!!!

Is that with an O-300 or an O-320?

Angry Worried

Now you guys have me concerned. My truck was sent to storage on 01.20 and released for shipment 02.09 but still sitting somewhere in Saltillo.

I am hoping that something was not wrong that they are still trying to fix.

Built on January 9th, two days later it goes into quality control. Stays in there until February 4th when it is released for transit. On February 18th goes back into quality control. I have spent hours on the phone to dealer and DC and no one will tell me what is going on. DC stated on February 20th that it will be in quality control for another two weeks. Last contact with DC I asked if it was for the computer flash and was told no. Asked why it keeps going to quality control but did not get an answer. Not good.

Which seems to beg the question, if they know why the truck is 'not' in quality control why don't they know why it is?

LHarper, I think I saw over on TDR that you have cancelled this order? If not, that would be the smart move. Unless there are certain options that you want that you just HAVE to order, I would think it would be better now to buy off the lot, or have them do a dealer search for you.

Obviously, this truck that you have on order now is going nowhere fast.

Wexman, I ordered the truck with a six speed, Laramie, with all options. They are hard to find on the west coast. Will not spend lots of money unless the truck is the way I want it. The one I have ordered will arrive at some point in time and then I will choose whether to take the truck or not. The frustration to me is knowing the truck is built, being told it is in transit and then back to quality control. One does begin to wonder if it will be a problem truck or not if it has to keep going back to quality control.

LHarper - IMHO I'd cancel the truck and start fresh. I would REFUSE to spend $40k+ for a truck that needs so much work AT THE FACTORY, even though they are best equiped to troubleshoot and solve bugs. If they don't fix it 100% there, I don't believe there is any way a dealer could fix it once she hits there lot. Just my opinion...

On the otherside, every DC rep could be wrong and the truck is actually complete, operates fine, and is currently sucking up the rays on a deck of some boat in the Atlantic Ocean!!!

Think about that statement for a second. They are holding a truck back for crappy exhaust clamps? No way!!! I wouldn't buy that for a second! There is no way they'd hold on shipping and being able to invoice a dealer just for exhaust clamps. I'd send the truck on its merry way and have the dealer address it....not the factory! Just my opinion...
